Blackjack Basics – Blackjack Table Selection
As with a huge number of the online games that see players been offered the chance to wager their own real money on their action, selecting the most suitable setting is the first key factor to success.
A clever and well thought out Blackjack table selection could spell the difference between you leaving the casino with a huge profit or with nothing but the crumbs from your dinner in your pocket.
For any online gambler to be successful, you need to be able to select where you are playing to best suit your playing style and approach, it wouldn’t make sense for a novice online poker player to head to the high stakes tables on the likes of PokerStars without previous poker knowledge, just as it wouldn’t make sense for a Blackjack player to take a seat next to someone that seems to enjoy trying to collect as many cards per hand as he can.
When thinking about table selection for your Blackjack action, you need to think about the stakes that you are going to be comfortable playing, allowing yourself to have a fair amount of funding at those stakes to offer you the chance to get a good length session in rather than heading to a level that is simply too rich for you and sees you heading to the casino exit before you have really got into your flow.
Secondly, you need to be looking at the type of player that is already at the table, are they novice or do they seem to be in a more advanced knowledge, being able to identify the quality of the players around you is vital as this will help you to decide whether to claim the final seat at the table or to wait your turn at one of the others.
Remember that more advanced players are more likely to know the ins and outs of the game and so will be more likely to stand on their hand when faced with the likes of 17 than a novice who is more than 80% more likely to want to hit and look to get a card lower than the value of 5.
Although you aren’t playing against the players around you, their play will directly influence yours due to them taking a share of the cards from the same deck of cards that you are playing from, use that to your advantage rather than seeing it as a down side.
To fully maximise that advantage, we will cover how professional Blackjack players are able to adopt a tactic called Counting Cards in Blackjack.
